FMCG Training Academy

Why the FMCG Training Academy was Established

The FMCG Training Academy was founded by Kogi Maistry, whose career spans more than 30 years of hands-on experience in the FMCG retail industry. Her comprehensive understanding of the sector—gained from both corporate and entrepreneurial roles—highlighted a critical gap in structured, practical FMCG training, which led to the establishment of the Academy.

Kogi spent over two decades working for leading FMCG manufacturers, including Ceres Fruit Juices (now part of the Pioneer Foods Group) and Woodlands Dairy. Throughout her career, she held several senior positions such as Promotions Manager, Regional Sales Manager, Key Account Manager, Regional Manager, and National Trade Marketing Manager. These roles provided her with in-depth insight into sales, marketing, trade marketing, and customer management from a manufacturer’s perspective.

Beyond the corporate environment, Kogi also built and managed a successful portfolio of retail businesses, which included two Chicken Licken franchises, a Superspar store, and two retail butcheries. This entrepreneurial experience enabled her to understand the FMCG industry from the viewpoint of a store owner, operator, and business leader, giving her a rare 360-degree perspective of retail operations.

Her unique skill set spans Sales Management, Marketing Management, Trade Marketing, and FMCG E-commerce platforms. Combined with her strong drive, determination, and passion for developing people, she is exceptionally positioned to deliver practical, relevant, and value-driven training.
